JNF to launch parks and nature reserves clean up campaign

Jewish National Fund will launch on Tuesday a national campaign to clean up Israel’s parks and nature reserves.
JNF World Chairman Efi Stenzler, Chief Education Officer Eli Sharmeister and the Australian Ambassador to Israel Andrea Faulkner will take part in the opening event held at Ben Shemen forest. "Every year the public's awareness to living in a clean environment grows,” said Stenzler.
“Last year there were over 240,000 volunteers and together we cleaned over 2,400 tons of garbage. It was the largest 'cleaning' campaign in Israel."
The initiative is part of the international “Clean up the World” campaign started in Australia in 1993 and sponsored by the United Nations.
