Kiryat Arba rabbi calls for moving Beduins to Libya

Kiryat Arba Rabbi Dov Lior on Tuesday presented his solution for "the Beduin problem," suggesting that Beduins in the Negev and Galilee be encouraged to move to Saudi Arabia and Libya.

Speaking at a conference on the subject of Jewish sovereignty over state lands, the rabbi said that Beduins' "return to their countries of origin" should be encouraged."

"Today there is a lot of land in Saudi Arabia, and also some land in Libya - a number of places," Lior said. He added, "They have enough land."

The rabbi explained that in his opinion, "the problem is so deeply rooted that there is no other solution for Beduins in southern Israel, whom he described as "working against the Israeli people and against the State of Israel."
