Kiryat Arba's Chief Rabbi arrested

Kiryat Arba's Chief Rabbi Dov Lior was detained by police Monday afternoon and taken to questioning. Lior, head of the Yesha (Judea and Samaria) Rabbis and one of the most senior national religious rabbis, was pulled over while driving on the Tunnel Road connecting Gush Etzion and Jerusalem.

While the official reason for his arrest was yet unknown, there was a standing arrest warrant against the rabbi, due to his ongoing refusal to present himself for police questioning about his endorsement of the book Torah Hamelech.
