Knesset bill over settlement freeze voted down

A bill which aims to give the Knesset the power to order a continuation in the settlement freeze in the West Bank has been delayed by a majority vote led by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday afternoon.
The Knesset bill, submitted by MKs Karmel Shama (Likud) and Uri Ariel (National Union), was intended to prevent the renewal of settlement construction at the end of the current 10-month moratorium and limit Netanyahu's power to control further settlement expansion.
The current settlement freeze is scheduled to expire at the end of September.
