Knesset bill to deny Bishara, others pension and perks

MKs Yisrael Hasson (Kadima) and Yariv Levin (Likud) are pushing a bill aimed to deny Balad party founder, former MK Dr. Azmi Bishara of his Knesset pension and perks.
According to the proposal a Knesset member or former Knesset member wanted for investigation or who has been indicted for a felony – and has not shown up for investigation or trial – won’t be paid their wages, pension or any other money owed, until they do show up.
Bishara was suspected of espionage and contact with an enemy agent. He submitted his resignation to the Knesset from abroad in April 2007 and has made his residence first in Qatar and more recently in Lebanon. He enjoys all the rights of a retired Knesset member.
