Knesset defers executive salary bill

The Knesset’s Ministerial Committee for Legislation decided on Sunday afternoon to defer, for three months, consideration of a proposed bill to limit senior executive salaries in the private sector. Labor MK Shelly Yacimovich and Likud MK Haim Katz had proposed the bill, which seeks to limit a senior manager’s salary to no more than 50 times that of the lowest-paid individual in the company.
The committee was also set to debate a law in which current and former Knesset members who are wanted for investigation or who have been indicted for a felony and have not shown up for investigation or trial, will not be be paid their wages, pension or any other money until they do show up.
