Knesset lobby for Schalit gives support to prisoner swap

Members of the Knesset lobby for Gilad Schalit on Monday expressed support for the release of Palestinian prisoners demanded by Hamas in exchange for the release of the captive IDF soldier, Israel Radio reported.

In a letter sent to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, lobby members Miri Regev of Likud, Eitan Cabel of Labor and Shaul Mofaz of Kadima, wrote: "We understand the fear over the possible outcomes [from the release of Hamas prisoners], but we are turning to you out of moral and social fortitude and out of our commitment to IDF soldiers."

The signing of the letter will be open to all Knesset members, Israel Radio reported.
