Knesset passes bill to aid Gush Katif evacuees

A bill proposed by coalition chair Ze'ev Elkin (Likud) to implement the official commission's conclusions for the treatment of Gush Katif evacuees, passed during its second and third reading without opposition. Thirty-eight Knesset members voted in favor of the bill.
"It is our moral duty to take care of those expelled from Gush Katif so that they will be able to restart their lives in permanent settlements," said Elkin.
