Lador: Katsav sentence shows justice system can be trusted

State Prosecutor Moshe Lador on Tuesday said that the sentence of former president Moshe Katsav exhibits to the the Israeli public that they can trust the justice system.

"The defense did their job, the prosecution did good and worthy work and the result today is not necessarily the final result," Lador said. "I understand that an appeal will be filed and we live in a world in which we must wait for the results of the appeal," he added.

Lador stated that the system proved that everyone, even the president, is judged equally when they commit crimes.
