Landau slams Barak over Cast Lead, Lebanon evacuation

Minister of National Infrastructure Uzi Landau slammed Defense Minister Ehud Barak's actions in Operation Cast Lead on Israel Radio Tuesday.
"It was a first-rate strategic failure, and it damaged our detterance," Landau said.
The minister added that the 2000 IDF evacuation from Lebanon, which Barak initiated, "was an energy shot" for Hizbullah.
The Defense Minister's Bureau said, in reaction, that Hizbullah grew strong when the IDF was still in Lebanon, and that Operation Cast Lead clearly deterred Hamas, Israel Radio reported.
