Villagers in southern Lebanon took weapons from UN peacekeepers and threw eggs and stones at their patrol on Saturday, Reuters reported.
The incident occurred after a UNIFIL patrol arrested a youth who had been part of an argument in the village of Kabrikha. When they they took him to a neighboring town, angry residents surrounded their patrol and took their weapons.
Lebanese army forces came to the UN peacekeeper's aid, retrieving their weapons and releasing the arrested youth.
