Hundreds of left-wing activists marched in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening marking the one-year anniversary of Operation Cast Lead, chanting slogans calling to put to trial members of the government that ordered the IDF to carry out the campaign, and chanting slogans such as, "No to the occupation, yes to peace."
Participating in the protests were members of the Women's Coalition for Peace, Gush Shalom, and supporters of Arab parties Hadash and Balad.
Hadash leader Muhammad Barakei told Israel Radio that "the key to communication is also the key that would stop rockets flying from Gaza."
Notably missing from the protest were members of Meretz and the powerful left-wing lobby Peace Now.
