Libya tells UN hopes to end NATO mandate by end of month

UNITED NATIONS - Libya's transitional leadership hopes to ask the UN Security Council to terminate its authorization for a no-fly zone and NATO intervention by October 31 but needs a few days to decide, a Libyan UN envoy said on Wednesday.
Speaking to the 15-nation council, Libyan Deputy UN Ambassador Ibrahim Dabbashi also said no Libyan government soldier shot ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi after his capture on Oct. 20. Gaddafi died of wounds he had sustained prior to his capture, Dabbashi said.
