Libyan attorney general defects to opposition

Libya's Attorney General Abdul Rahman al-Abr on Friday announced that he resigned from the government and is joining the opposition in anti-government protests against Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Most of the eastern half of Libya has already broken away, and diplomats, ministers and even a high-ranking cousin who was one of Gaddafi's closest aides — Ahmed Gadhaf al-Dam — have abandoned the leader.
