Islamic Jihad groups will target Balkan nations next, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman warned during a meeting with Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski on Tuesday.
Speaking in Jerusalem, the foreign minister explained that intelligence gathered by agencies around the world showed Islamist terrorist organizations were already recruiting members and establishing cells in the Balkans.
Lieberman cautioned that Islamic and Saudi charities were continuously transferring funds to Muslims of Bosnian and Albanian origin.
Steps must be taken, he stressed, to stop terror from infiltrating southeastern Europe just as it had seeped into South America and Africa.
