Likud MKs urge Barak to come down hard on anti-security fence rioters

Likud MKs urge Barak to

Likud MKs Ophir Akunis, Ze'ev Elkin and Zion Pinyan were at the scene of an anti-security fence protest in the West Bank village Na'alin on Friday in a show of support for security forces, which were once again attacked by Palestinian and left-wing demonstrators. Elkin urged Defense Minister Ehud Barak to deal with the rioters with a "strong hand" and to start "enforcing the law" in Bil'in and Na'alin, the scene of the weekly violent protests. He said that restraining orders should be used against left-wing extremists who attack soldiers and damage the security barrier, just as they are used against settlers. Akunis said that the "demonstrations of anarchists" must be stopped.
