Lindenstrauss: No new investigations in Harpaz affair

The State Comptroller's office confirmed Saturday that the investigation into the so-called "Galant document" will be wrapped up in the coming days, after reports that police had requested renewed investigations.
State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss met with the director of the defense department in his office along with the head of police investigations, Maj-Gen. Yoav Saglovich, this past week over new evidence. Lindenstrauss contended, however, that the comptroller's office had gathered enough information already to close the case.
The comptroller's office reportedly interrogated "thousands of witnesses," including from the documents author, former intelligence officer Lt. Col. (res.) Boaz Harpaz, according to Israel Radio.
The "Galant document" falsely gave the impression that Galant, who had been a senior candidate to become IDF chief of General Staff, had hired a PR firm to damage the reputations of other competitors for the post.
Galant was eventually denied the position due to allegations that he misappropriated land near his home in Moshav Amikam, near Zichron Ya’acov.
