Litzman says gov't wants to bring doctors from abroad

Deputy Health Minister Ya'akov Litzman raised a proposal on Tuesday to bring in Israeli doctors working in OECD countries to undergo expedited qualification in order to enter the Israeli medical field.
Litzman's comments came as over 500 doctors tendered their resignations due to an ongoing labor dispute over wages and conditions.
Liztman insisted that the plan was not directly related to the doctors' strike, but that it would address that problem as well, Israeli media reported.
