Livni expresses hope of Knesset majority against Tal Law

During a meeting with activists opposing the Tal Law on Monday, opposition leader Tzipi Livni said the Prime Minister is captive to his coalition partners and that she hopes that a majority can be still be found to oppose the extension of the law.
“We presented a bill during this Knesset session requiring every citizen to serve in the IDF or national or civilian service. It was however opposed by the coalition, which was not surprising," she said
"The problem is not the text of the bill, the problem is the stance of the PM, we have a PM who is a captive to the coalition partners who he chose. Social justice can’t be achieved until every citizen in the State of Israel contributes to society," she added.
