Livni: Israel's allies worried about anti-democratic trend

Opposition leader Tzippi Livni said Sunday that Israel's friends are growing worried about what they view as an increasingly anti-democratic trend in Israeli society.
"Even Israel's real friends see what is happening in Israel, including leaders in Jewish communities. They want to defend us from isolation, but it is difficult for them," she said during an interview with Army Radio.
Livni added that she believes Israeli society is becoming increasingly religious.
"There is a group in Israel that wants a religious state. That upsets me, and it's not a political matter," she said.
