Livni lets Kadima Dir.-Gen. Shehori return to work

Kadima leader Tzipi Livni decided Sunday to allow the party's director-general, Moshe Shehori, to return to work, less than three week after he was arrested on suspicion of paying bribes to extricate his wife from a Tax Authority investigation.
A Kadima spokesman said Shehori's arrest had nothing to do with his work for the party, that he has cooperated with what could be a lengthy investigation, and that he was innocent until proven guilty.
The decision faced criticism from Likud and from inside Kadima. The Likud released a statement slamming Livni.
"Mrs Clean is returning a director-general suspected of bribery to run the party together with others convicted or accused of heinous crimes like Ehud Olmert, Tzahi Hanegbi, Haim Ramon, and Gilad and Omri Sharon," the Likud said.
