Livni slams efforts to ban women singing at IDF ceremonies

Preventing women from singing at IDF ceremonies is not about singing, Opposition leader Tzipi Livni said Monday, "it puts a question mark on whether women and men will serve together in the IDF in general." Livni was speaking at the "Women talking about women" conference organized by Sherry Blair and Sheryl Saban.
"It took many years of struggling to allow women to serve in IDF combat units and now they are trying to exclude women, and that's serious." The issue is not just about women's rights, Livni added, but is "a struggle between the law and radicals, who are trying to impose themselves on society."
