Livni slams Netanyahu government for impasse in peace talks

For four years Israel has claimed it does not have a Palestinian peace partner, yet PA President Mahmoud Abbas's interview last week with Channel 2 proves otherwise, former opposition leader Tzipi Livni asserted Sunday night.
In her own interview with Channel 2, Livni blamed the Israeli government for the impasse in Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, saying its approach had created a lack of trust between the parties which precluded holding productive talks.
Livni pointed to Abbas's admission last Friday that he could never "return" to his birthplace of Safed to support her position.
With respect to a potential political comeback, Livni said she is "listening to the voices that are telling me to come back to politics," but that she needs more time before making her decision in order to ensure that if she runs for the Knesset she can "do things properly and bring about real change."
