Livni speaks out against judicial selection reform bill

Opposition leader Tzipi Livni (Kadima) spoke out Monday against a judicial selection reform bill claiming that the Knesset was taking away the democratic tools in order to cancel democratic choices.

The bill regulates the Bar Association’s choice of its two representatives on the Judicial Selection Committee.

During a speech at a conference titled "media under fire" Livni said "there is a clear connection between the attempts to take over the Supreme Court, the desire to scare the media and muting the radicalization of society.
