Livni to Panetta: World must stop Iran

Opposition leader Tzipi Livni told American Defense Secretary Leon Panetta that the world must stop Iran's nuclear program during a Friday meeting in Washington, DC.
"The world needs to stop Iran. Tougher, biting sanctions are required without delay," Livni said.
The two also discussed the importance of maintaining a strong US-Israel relationship amid regional developments, which Livni framed as a competition between pragmatists and extremists.
"The extremists in the middle east are taking advantage of democracy to strengthen themselves," Livni said. "The struggle against a nuclear Iran and restarting negotiations with with the Palestinians will strengthen the pragmatic camp in the region."
"The strategic alliance between our countries in all fields, and first and foremost in security, must be maintained at all costs," she concluded.
