Local Authorities head joins Labor race

Union of Local Authorities in Israel head Shlomo Bohbut announced on Thursday that he intends to run for Labor chairman.
Speaking to the radio station of the Herzliya Interdisciplinary Center, Bohbut predicted that he could win 20 seats for Labor.
Bohbut, who has been a fierce critic of the government's economic policies, will face off in the September 7 race against MKs Isaac Herzog and Avishay Braverman and possibly MKs Amir Peretz and Shelly Yacimovich and Tel Aviv mayor Ron Huldai. Former Labor chairman Amram Mitzna ruled out a run for the post this week.
