Man 'bent on shooting his lawyer' arrested

A man allegedly plotting to shoot dead his own lawyer was arrested Tuesday after purchasing a handgun from an undercover police agent.
Detectives at the Zevulon police station north of Haifa received word that the man, a resident of Eilat, 47, who has a criminal record, had made a decision to shoot his attorney in the North, after accusing the lawyer of embezzling him during a deal.
Police said the man had shown an interest in purchasing a firearm, adding that the undercover agent was sent to sell him the gun.
"As soon as he bought the gun, undercover police arrested him," police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.
A Haifa Magistrate's Court extended his remand by four days.
