Man indicted for raping mentally disabled woman

The Haifa District Attorney filed an indictment in the Haifa District Court on Monday, charging a 36-year-old Hadera man with raping and indecently assaulting a resident in a home for people with special needs.

According to the indictment, Avner Nadao worked as an instructor in a residential community for people with mental health and learning disabilities and was responsible for the complainant's care. The indictment charges that while on duty one night last month, Nadao went into the complainant's room, sexually assaulted and raped her.

The district attorney also filed a request that Nadao be remanded in custody throughout the legal proceedings against him.
