Man who attacked Barkat: Mayor neglects Jerusalem

The man who verbally attacked Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat on Monday afternoon said later in the day that he had not used foul language against the mayor, but had spoken in a loud tone of voice to drew the attention of the public.
During his investigation, the man said he was angry at Barkat for neglecting the city of Jerusalem and its residents and failing to remove graffiti.
He said that potentially hazardous substances found on his person, such as tear gas, were meant for self-defense and not for any planned attack.
The man's remand was extended on Monday evening.
