Medvedev: Arms reduction deal with the US must be mutual

Talks concerning an arms reduction treaty between and are rapidly gaining ground, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was quoted by<i>RIA Novosti</i> as saying on Saturday.
“Negotiations … are tough, but in general we have agreed on many points,” hesaid, cautioning that the deal will only take place if the two sides ratify itmutually and simultaneously.
The new treaty would see both world powers cut down their nuclear arsenals.
It will replace the START 1 agreement, which expired last month.
