Meretz MKs Gal-On, Horowitz wish Lapid luck in politics

MKs Zehava Gal-On and Nitzan Horowitz on Sunday wished Channel 2 news anchor Yair Lapid the best of luck in his upcoming political career.
"It is good that Yair Lapid has finally put an end to the dangerous legislation against him. Journalists must be free from censorship, and it was unfair to try to prevent him from entering the realm of politics," they said in a press release.
Channel 2 news anchor Yair Lapid informed the station's management that he is resigning in order to enter politics, Israeli media reported on Sunday.
The Knesset has been discussing a bill that would institute a cooling-off period for journalists before they could get elected
A Shvakim Panorama poll broadcast on Israel Radio last month found that Kadima would fall from its current 28 seats in the Knesset to only 10 if Lapid entered politics and formed a new party.
