Meridor hopes UN panel will improve ties with Turkey

Israel hopes that its decision to take part in a flotilla investigative panel set up by the UN in the hope that this would significantly improve relations with Turkey, Deputy Prime Minister Dan Meridor said on Tuesday.
The decision to agree to cooperate with the UN investigation, which was announced on Monday, is "primarily meant, to my knowledge, for Turkey and Israel to find a way to bring relations back to a better place," Meridor told Israel Army Radio.
Turkey was in favor of the Israeli decision calling it "a step in the right direction."
