MK Danon to state comptroller: Investigate Ben Dror case

MK Danny Danon, chairman of the Knesset Committee for the Rights of the Child, requested the state comptroller investigate whether Itai Ben-Dror's alleged murder of three children last week could have been prevented, Israel Radio reported Wednesday morning.
Government offices will review the recommendations by the committee, which was established by Welfare and Social Services Minister Isaac Herzog after the murder of four-year-old Rose Pizem.
Danon said that the committee recommended at the beginning of the year an increase in cooperation between various authorities and requested amending the law which would allow the recognition of children in dangerous situations.
The committee's recommendations were not implemented and the protocols remain unchanged.
