MK Livni decries proposal to legalize outposts

Kadima leader Tzipi Livni said Thursday that a proposed bill banning demolition of homes built on private Palestinian land sends the wrong message to Israelis.
"Passing this proposed bill which seeks to legalize outposts would send a clear message to stone throwers harassing IDF officers that violence works," she said.
The bill, proposed Thursday morning by MK Zevulun Orlev, would ban the demolition of houses built on private Palestinian land if the landowner failed to file a complaint within four years from the start of the building process. In cases that complaint is filed after the four years, private land owners would only be eligible for financial compensation.
If passed, Orlev claimed that the bill would ban demolition of homes in Migron, Giv'at Assaf, and more.
