MK Sheetrit announces he won't run for Kadima leadership

MK Meir Sheetrit announced Wednesday that he will not run in primary elections for leadership of the Kadima party. "70 - 80 percent of voters have a positive opinion of me, but I haven't been able to turn my experience into votes," he said at a press conference in the Knesset.
"We need a different leadership... a leader that will take us out of international isolation, work on implementing social justice, stop subsidizing the wealthy, boost education," added Sheetrit.
MK Sheetrit did not say who he would support, but declared he would do so by Sunday.
Kadima will hold primaries for the party's leadership on March 27. MKs Tzipi Livni, Shaul Mofaz, and Avi Dichter have announced their candidacy for the party leadership.
