MKs call for dissolving of Knesset Ethics C'tee

MK's Shlomo Molla (Kadima) and Eitan Cabel (Labor) called for the Knesset Ethics Committee to be dissolved, calling the committee biased after it suspended United Arab List MK Ahmed Tibi for remarks he made during a short speech at the Knesset.
While the two MKs said they did not condone Tibi's statements, which were made following an incident when Israel Beiteinu MK Anastasia Michaeli splashed the Ta'al MK with a glass of water, they wrote in a letter to Knesset speaker Reuven Rivlin that they felt "that the Ethics Committee has become a tool for silencing the MKs that do not hold the same views as the committee members."
"This committee is biased and does not represent all parties, but rather reflects a political view," the MKs wrote of the committee, which is chaired by Shas MK Yithak Vaknin.  "Without balance in the makeup of the committee members, there is no reason the committee should exist."
The MKs demanded the that committee be "dismantled and reassembled" in order to reflect "all parties and their views."
