MKs to Obama: Reconsider turning down Knesset speech

US President Barack Obama should reconsider his refusal to address the Knesset on his visit to Israel later this month, MKs Tzipi Hotovely (Likud Beytenu) and Avi Wortzman (Bayit Yehudi) wrote in a letter to the president.
"The Israeli Knesset is the main symbol of Israel's statehood and it represents all of our country's citizens – Jews, Arabs, Druse, Christians and Muslims alike," the MKs wrote.
Wortzman and Hotovely pointed out that many world leaders have spoken in the Knesset before.
"The United States are Israel’s greatest friend and ally," they added, thanking the president for his planned visit. "Your country’s constant support in matters of security and economy have always been an important contribution towards Israel’s sustainability, security and prosperity."
