Moussa: Israel welcome in Mideast if it stops settlements

Israel's acceptance in the Middle East depends on its willingness to stop building settlements in the West Bank and end the military occupation of Palestinian territory, Egyptian presidential hopeful Amr Moussa said in comments published on his official Facebook page Saturday.
"The message is clear to Israel," said Moussa, who announced his decision to run for Egypt's presidency shortly after the popular deposition of Hosni Mubark. "Your passport to the region is [conditioned on] abandoning policy of intransigence, threats and settlement, the occupation and the establishment of a Palestinian state with [full] sovereignty," he wrote.
Moussa - who has served as Egypt's foreign minister and the Arab League secretary general - has said he would preserve the peace with Israel, but would seek modification to some aspects of the 1979 accords.
