Movement for Quality Gov't appeals Hanegbi decision

The Movement for Quality Government petitioned the High Court Wednesday over a Jerusalem District Court decision not to allow the state to appeal former MK Tsahi Hanegbi's acquittal for corruption in making political appointments, Israel Radio reported.
The NGO argued in its petition that the district court's decision not to allow the prosecution an extension to appeal the acquittal for the duration of the prosecutors' strike was extremely unreasonable and it should be overturned. It added that the decision ignored the public importance of the flagship case on political appointments and asked the court to urgently discuss the petition, according to the report.
