Mt. Hermon sees 40 centimeters of snow

One month after the start of winter, Israel is finally seeing snow, with accumulation being reported throughout the North.
40 centimeters of snow had already fallen on the peak of Mt. Hermon by early Monday morning, and 20 centimeters at its base. The snow was expected to continue periodically during the day.
The unseasonably warm weather broke with a bang last week with days of thunderstorms producing flash floods all over the country. This was followed by a brief respite of sun and warmth over the weekend, but that was quickly replaced with another bout of lightning and heavy rains.
Drivers were warned to take precautions when traveling, as the inclement weather may produce additional flash floods.
