The man charged with murder for the May 15 Nakba Day truck rampage in Tel Aviv told the Tel Aviv District Court on Sunday that he was unconscious at the time of the incident.
In June 2011, the Tel Aviv District Attorney’s Office charged Islam Ibrahim Issa with murder, attempted murder, causing bodily harm and endangering lives on the road for the incident that left one person dead and 17 injured."It was as if the truck was driving itself, I wasn't awake. I wasn't conscious," he said during the testimony.
Issa added that the route he used was familiar to him because he used it often, and insisted that he had not drunk alcohol or used drugs before the incident.
