NATO chief: US not alone, others will increase contribution as well

NATO chief US not alone

NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen overnight Tuesday stressed that the war on terror in Afghanistan was not "a US mission alone." "This is not a US mission alone. There are 43 countries on the ground under NATO command and I am confident that other allies and partners will also make a substantial increase in their contributions," Rasmussen said. Rasmussen'a remarks came after US President Barack Obama announced he would be sending an additional 30,000 troops to Afghanistan by the summer.
