Netanyahu: Hebron evacuation on hold while we check facts

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu briefly addressed the proposed evacuation of Beit Hamachpela (House of the Patriarchs) on Tuesday, saying the government was currently holding off the evacuation as the facts of the case were being examined.

"I am coordinating with the defense minister. I asked him to hold off on the evacuation so we can check the matter, and that is what we are doing," Netanyahu stated during a speech marking three years of his government.

The IDF did not move immediately to evacuate 15 Jewish families from the three-story Hebron apartment building at 3 p.m. Tuesday, the time given for its residents to voluntarily leave or risk a forced removal.
