Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu landed in Washington DC Monday night, to attend AIPAC's annual convention.
Netanyahu was on his way to the State Department for a meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. At the meeting, the two are expected to try and put an end to the rift in US-Israeli relations that began after the announcement of plans to build in Jerusalem's Ramat Shlomo neighborhood during Vice President Joe Biden's visit to Israel.
He is expected to tell Clinton that one-sided interventions by the US are counterproductive to the peace process and may harm it, as they cause the Palestinian side to dig in their heels.
The prime minister is expected to meet with US President Barack Obama on Tuesday.
Netanyahu will speak at the AIPAC conference and is expected to tell them that Jerusalem is not a settlement, the Prime Minister's Office said.
