Netanyahu moves student income support bill to expert panel

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday decided to form a committee of experts to advise the government concerning the new income support for kollel and university students proposed by the United Torah Judaism faction.
As a result of the prime minister's decision the cabinet vote regarding the bill will be delayed by three weeks.
The chairman of the committee of experts is slated to be held Eyal Gabai, the prime minister's chief of staff, and the remainder of the panel will be filled by representatives from the finance, justice, and education ministries, the national economic advisory council, the national insurance institute and the attorney-general's office. Netanyahu has tasked the committee with finding ways to encourage the haredi population to participate in the nation's labor force before the cabinet minister's vote on an income supplement.
