The Keren Foundation for Medical Justice filed a petition with the High Court of Justice against the recent government decision to deduct NIS 65 million from the NIS 419 m. expansion of the health basket to cover "basic dental care" for children. On Monday night, ministers were called by the cabinet secretary's office and asked if they favored the proposal pushed by Deputy Health Minister Ya'acov Litzman. According to the foundation, the law determines that dental care funds should be allocated directly through the state budget, and not on expense of the additions to the budget covering technological updates. The decision, according to the petitioners, is testimony to flawed reasoning, and therefore necessitates the court's intervention.
