No Dutch government with anti-Islam party

AMSTERDAM  — Talks to form a right-wing Dutch government that would include a strident anti-Islam party have broken down, said the chief coalition negotiator on Thursday.
Uri Rosenthal of the pro-business VVD party said talks with the Christian Democrats and the anti-Islam Freedom Party of Geert Wilders have ended unsuccessfully.
Rosenthal said Thursday he informed Queen Beatrix there was no possibility for a three-party right-wing government.
The VVD, led by Mark Rutte, is likely now to explore a centrist coalition with the left-leaning Labor Party and several smaller parties.
The complex negotiations are a result of inconclusive elections last week in which the VVD and the Freedom Party scored the biggest gains.
