Noam Schalit: Public supports prisoner exchange deal

Noam Schalit on Tuesday said that all surveys have shown that the Israeli public supports a prisoner exchange deal for his son, kidnapped soldier Gilad Schalit, despite the risks that such a deal would involve. His comments came in an interview with Israel Radio.
Schalit said that the "scare tactics" employed by the Prime Minister's Office in regard to the risks of a prisoner exchange deal are "not working on the public."
The kidnapped soldier's father added that he will remain in the protest tent across from the Prime Minister's residence in Jerusalem with his wife, because he cannot end his struggle until his son is returned.
This coming weekend will mark five years since Schalit was kidnapped by Hamas.
