North American Jewish leaders express hope prior to PM visit

In advance of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s visit to the United States, prominent North American Jewish leaders expressed the hope that the meeting would reinvigorate relations between the United States and Israel.
“It is always a pleasure to welcome the Prime Minister when he comes to the United States,” Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations chairperson Alan Solow said. “We look forward to a report from him on his meetings with President Obama, which of course we hope will further strengthen the US/Israel relationship.”
After talks with US President Barack Obama in Washington, Netanyahu is scheduled to visit New York on Wednesday and Thursday, where he will meet with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, and will subsequently debrief the Conference of Presidents on his talks with Obama.
“We also look forward to hearing from him regarding the variety of challenges that face Israel and the plans his government has to meet them,” Solow said. “I am confident that he will receive a warm welcome from American Jewish leadership.”
