Not enough invested in children welfare, says council head

"We don't invest enough in the prevention or treatment of child abuse," Dr. Yitzchak Kadman, Executive Director of the National Council for the Child told President Shimon Peres on Wednesday.
Kadman was at the President's residence to present Peres with the first copy of the 2011 edition of the almanac on 'Children in Israel' which had been published for the twentieth consecutive year.
Containing hundreds of pages of child oriented statistics, the almanac, which Kadman asserted is the only one of its kind in the world, paints a disturbing picture about the inadequacy of educational, health, social welfare and leisure time services available to the nation's children.
